Royce McClinton, 60, of Lockhart died suddenly Saturday, May 3, 2008, at his home.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the Anton Auction site on Highway 183.
Royce, or “Mr. Mac,” was born on Sept. 23, 1947, in Hubbard, Texas, to Kirvin and Pauline McClinton. He graduated from Coolidge High School in 1966. He played six-man football, was vote

d most handsome and was a leader of his FFA chapter. He continued his education at Corsicana Junior College, and then obtained his bachelor”s degree in Ag Business from Sam Houston State University.
While at Sam Houston, he met Nell Cornelius, and they married on Aug. 19, 1973. They lived in the Willis/ New Waverly area. In 1980 Royce moved his family to Austin where he worked for Charro Farms. In 1984, his job relocated him to San Marcos, where he decided to stay and raise his family. He obtained his real estate license in 1984, and in the fall of 1992, he became a full time Realtor.
In 2002, he moved his family for the last time to Lockhart, Texas.
From the time Royce was a little boy, all he wanted to do was be a cowboy, and that he was. Cowboying was Royce”s love. He had countless “wild west” stories that he loved to tell. He also held his PRCA card from a time in the early “80s.
Royce lived his life by example, and he loved Jesus Christ, who was his Lord and Savior. In 2000 Royce was led to start a cowboy church, and the Running Iron Cowboy Church was formed.
Royce and Nell have three daughters: Natasha McClinton Roberts, who is married to Joe Roberts, of Bastrop, Texas, Foncie McClinton, who died at birth, and Kallee McClinton of Boerne, Texas. Royce and Nell have one Grandson, Joe McClinton Roberts.
“Joe Mac,” was his Paw”s pride and joy.
Royce was loved by many people and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by both his parents and one daughter.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Running Iron Cowboy Church, care of American National Bank, in Lockhart, Texas.
