L.H.S. powerlifters place at meet

The Lockhart High School Lady Lions” varsity and Lions” junior varsity Powerlifting teams traveled to Luling for competition on Saturday, Jan. 7. The Lady Lions finished fourth place in the meet, while the Lions finished sixth place.
“Coach McAdams and I are really proud of all the lifters,” Coach Darrell Brock said.
Competing for the girls was Ashley Castillo p

lacing first in the 114-pound class with a total of 530 pounds, Anna Beth Gonzales placing second in the 198-pound class with a total of 530 pounds, and Chelsea Branning placing fourth in the 132-pound class with a total of 450 pounds.
Competing for the boys was Matthew Tienda placing second in the 123-pound class with a total of 635 pounds, Zach Leija placing third in the 123-pound class with a total of 600 pounds, Richard Ybarra placing tenth in the 148-pound class with a total of 620 pounds, Kory Robbins placing eleventh in the 165-pound class with a total of 780 pounds, Royse Lee placing thirteenth in the 165-pound class with a total of 765 pounds, Max Lindstrom placing thirteenth in the 181-pound class with a total of 725 pounds, Rafael Regalado placing eleventh in the 181-pound class with a total of 745 pounds, Chris Martinez placing fifth in the 181-pound class with a total of 950 pounds, Jacob Frey placing sixth in the 198-pound class with a total of 675 pounds, and Bryan West placing seventh in the 198-pound class with a total of 670 pounds.
For their next competition, the Lockhart High School will be hosting their 11th Annual Lockhart Lion Powerlifting Meet on Saturday, Jan. 14, in the high school auxiliary gymnasium.
