8th Grade “A” vs. Barton
The 8th grade “A” volleyball team continued to dominate on Monday night, Oct. 24, by easily defeating the Barton Bobcats in a district game at home.
The win was part of a current 10-game winning streak for the girls. The Lady Lions took the first game 25-16, as Desiree Roland played strong at the net, and Bianca Juarez picked up everythi

ng in the back row as the team”s libero.
In the second game, the girls continued to dominate as Megan Corbitt served five points in a row, to give the team a comfortable lead, and Brandy Stacks played strong defense. The girls took the second game by a score of 25-17.
The win gave the team a current overall record of 14-2, and a district record of 8-1. They look to wrap of a very successful season on the road Halloween night, Oct. 31, against the Wallace Rangers. A win will give the girls the district championship.

8th Grade “B” vs. Barton
On Monday, Oct. 24, the Lady Lions 8th grade “B” volleyball team inched by the Bobcats from Barton Middle School in three games.
During the first game the Lady Lions played outstanding defense, to take the win, 25-15. Kariah Selby served seven points for the lady Lions, while Amanda Alvarez followed closely with six points. Amanda Wright had an amazing 10 kills to help the ladies secure the victory.
In the second game, the Lady Lions got out to a slow start falling behind by six points. Courtney Ferris had six solid kills at the net and Monica Parra served nine consecutive points for the ladies to bring them within three points of the Bobcats. However the Lady Lions could not capture the lead and fell, 19-25.
Lockhart focused to take the win in the third game, 15-10. Audrey Valdez had five serves for the Lady Lions, while Kelsie Briscoe had consistent sets for her hitters.
The Lady Lions are now 9-2 in district play and 14-4 overall. The Lady Lions play their last district game against Wallace Middle School next Monday, Oct. 31.

7th Grade vs. Dahlstrom
On Monday night, Oct. 17, the 7th grade “A” team smashed the Dahlstrom Mustangs 25-9 and 25-11. The “A” team”s current district record is 4-4.
The “B” team lost to the Mustangs in a three game match. Their current record is 3-5.
