Lady Lions vs. Vista Ridge
The Lady Lion soccer team played their final district game of the year this Friday night, March 17, against Cedar Park Vista Ridge at Lion Stadium.
The Lady Lion defense held strong, repelling the early attacks from the Vista Ridge forwards.
Vista Ridge finally put a goal past the Lockhart keeper. They kept the offense going thro

ughout the game tallying five goals.
The entire Lady Lion team kept up the pressure, both offensive and defensive, until the final seconds clicked off the clock.
The Lady Lions finish the year with a district record of 4-7-3.
“Congratulations to the entire team for their dedication and hard work during the whole season,” Coach Tim Bayliss said.

Lady Lions tie Lake Travis
The Lockhart Lady Lions” soccer team battled perennial district power Lake Travis Friday night, March 10.
The Lady Lions came out and fought hard against the Lake Travis Lady Cavaliers. Solid defensive and midfield play from Lockhart kept the Lady Cavalier attack at bay throughout the first half, resulting in a 0-0 halftime score.
In the second half, the Lady Lions turned up the offensive pressure. Lockhart gained offensive opportunities through constant pressure, allowing them to earn several corner kicks. The Lady Cavalier counter attack tested the Lady Lion defense, which held up to the test.
Lady Lions” goalkeeper, junior Isabella Saldana, played an outstanding game making 11 saves, including a spectacular sliding one-on-one save against a Lake Travis forward.
When the game clock expired, the scoreboard revealed a 0-0 tie. “The entire Lady Lion soccer team played an absolutely outstanding match,” said Coach Bayliss.
