Lady Lions earn All-District honors

The Lockhart Lady Lions, who finished their softball season second in District 26 AAAA, were honored by distinguished all-district selections.
The following athletes were selected for their outstanding efforts in the 2008 season.

Lady Lion pitcher Taylor Boedecker earned a Co-Defensive MVP title for her outstanding pitc

hing as a freshman.

First Team All-District honors went to senior Janie Juarez for her contribution as a catcher, freshman Veronica Escobedo for her great efforts at second base and senior Zaida Hager for her awesome job at first base.

Second Team All-District honors went to sophomore Brandy Stacks for her work at shortstop and freshman Kassie Gaddis for hers at center field.

Honorable Mention honors went to freshman third baseman Amanda Capello, senior first baseman Krista Law, sophomore designated player/pitcher Jamie Schulle, junior right fielder Karoline Pfefferkorn and junior left fielder Chelsey Martinez.

Hager, Martinez, Pfefferkorn, Schulle, Boedecker, Capello and Gaddis also earned 2008 Academic All-District honors.

Hager also earned 2008 Academic All-State honors.

Congratulations to the entire Lady Lion team for an outstanding season.
