The Lady Lions had a busy Spring Break, playing three games during their “vacation” from school and winning two of them with a considerable lead.
The Lady Lions traveled to New Braunfels where they took the Lady Unicorns by the horn and beat them 8-2 on Friday, March 7.
Lockhart then hosted Del Valle at Lady Lion Field o

nly to pluck the Lady Cardinals 10-0 on Tuesday, March 11.
Not content with their two previous wins, the Lady Lions won again at home, beating the Lady Rebels 4-0 on Wednesday, March 12.

Lockhart vs.
New Braunfels

According to coach Alisha Homann “The Lady Lions came out fired up and never let up,” during their game against New Braunfels on Friday.
They scored three runs in the first inning and three in the second. Two additional runs came separately, one in the fourth inning and the other in the seventh.
The Lady Lions smashed the ball convincingly from the beginning causing the Lady Unicorns to panic early and forcing them to take out their ace pitcher at the top of the third inning.
The Lady Lions displayed consistent and powerful hitting throughout the game.
Veronica Escobedo went 4-4 with three doubles and an RBI. Janie Juarez went 3-3 with three RBIs. Zaida Hager went 2-3 with a double, Amanda Capello went 2-4 while Jaime Schulle and Kassie Gaddis each hit a single.
The Lady Unicorns scored their two runs in the third inning.
Taylor Boedecker struck out nine Lady Unicorn hitters and gave up five hits.

Lockhart vs. Del Valle

Del Valle never had a chance against the Lady Lions who owned their field and the game after getting warmed up. Lockhart took the Cardinals 10-0 in six innings.
The Lady Lions started out slow on Tuesday, chipping away one run at a time. Their runs were third. They scored one run in the first, four in the second, two in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Brandy Stacks was 2-3. Boedecker was 3-4 with a double, a triple and four RBIs. Juarez was 2-4 with two doubles, Capello had a double and Gaddis had a single. Krista Law had a double.
Karoline Pfeffoerkorn played tough defense in right field while Samantha Acevedo helped keep the Lady Lions’ spirits high.
Pitching for Lockhart was Schulle, who struck out six Lady Cardinals and gave up only three hits.

Lockhart vs. Hays
Lockhart seemed sluggish and had a harder time defeating Hays, but beat them 4-0 in the end on Wednesday. They scored a run in the first inning on an illegal pitch by Hays.
The Lady Lions scored another run in the third inning and two more runs in the sixth.
Stacks was 1-2 with a double, Escobedo was 2-3 with a double and an RBI and Boedecker added a single.
Several Lady Lions hit the ball hard enough to go deep and make the Lady Rebels commit errors, which allowed several base runs.
Again, Pfefferkorn did a great job defensively, backing up throws in right field. Boedecker struck out 12 Lady Rebels and allowed only one hit.
The Lady Lions currently hold an 18-3-1 record with a 4-0 record in district play. They traveled to New Braunfels to face the New Braunfels Canyon Lady Cougars on Tuesday, March 18 and will host Steele at home on Thursday, March 20.
