LHS band wins Sweeptakes at UIL Concert

The Lockhart High School Wind Ensemble performed at the 2005 UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest on Wednesday, April 6, at Connally High School.
The Wind Ensemble received first division ratings in both the Concert and Sight-reading sections.
In order to receive a Sweepstakes trophy you must also receive a first division rating for the UIL Marching Competition

in the fall season as well as the two sections in the spring.
The Lockhart High School Band has now received three Sweepstakes trophies in the last six years, and for the other three years received first division ratings for two out of the three sections.
The Band Directors are Roxanne Vickers (Head Band Director), Brian Wimberly (Symphonic Band), Carlos Jimenez (Assistant Wind Ensemble/JHS Concert), Joseph McKelvey (JHS Wind Ensemble), Jesus Torres (JHS Symphonic).
“The directors want to thank the community, Lockhart administration, parents, and the Lockhart school board who have greatly supported the award winning Lockhart Lion Band,” Roxanne Vickers said.
