LTX Titans win district championship
The Titans took the district championship this past Saturday, Nov. 5, with a 12-7 victory over Floresville Wildcats.
It was a well-played defensive game for both teams. LTX Titans came out hot and ready to hit. The defense for the Titans held the Wildcats to little yardage in the first quarter, allowing the Titans offense to b

e the first ones to put points on the board.
The Titans scored with a sweep around the left side by Darius Hill on a 48-yard run.
In the second quarter the Titans Wrecking Crew, consisting of Clay Barnett, Cameron Davis, Adam Galvan, Nate Guerrero, Darius Hill, Jordan Huckaby, Justin Luna, Brandon Ramirez, Ryan Reed, Kenneth Romo, and Saivon Thompson, stepped up again and held the Wildcats to a scoreless quarter.
During halftime all the coaches for the Titans kept the team hyped up for the second half.
The Titans came back from halftime to receive the ball. Again, the third quarter was a scoreless quarter for both teams.
At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Titans came out strong in the beginning and were the first to score with a 9-yard pass from Brandon Ramirez to Jordan Huckaby.
The offense that helped the Titans on the way to the victory was made up of Clay Barnett, Brandon Davis, Cameron Davis, Adam Galvan, Zachary Garza, Edwardo Hernandez, Darius Hill, Jordan Huckaby, Justin Luna, Brandon Ramirez, AJ Rangel, Ryan Reed, Kenneth Romo, Kai Brewer, Jorge Gomez, Dequan Hedspeth, Chris Jackson, and Matt McNabb.
Finally with less than one minute to go the Wildcats scored with a sweep around the left side followed up with a run in for the extra point.
“We are right where we want to be,” Coach Clay said. “At the beginning of the season we set three goals. 1. Win District 2. Win Alamo Conference Championship and 3. Win the T.Y.F.A. National Championship.
“We are proud that our kids from Lockhart are able to step up and meet the challenges from other kids from bigger cities.”
Coach Clay also made note that the LTX Titans have not lost a home game in two years and that the coaches are very proud of them.
Next week the LTX Titans will face off against the Live Oak Jaguars in the first round of the playoffs at home on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 3 pm.
“We hope that everyone can come out to the game and show their support for the LTX Titans and their playoff game,” Patty Ramirez said. “Good luck and go Titans!”
