Troy H. Hart, 88, died at his home in Delhi, Texas, at 7:30 a.m., April 5, of natural causes.

Troy was a WWII veteran and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Keersarge, a newly commissioned aircraft carrier, as an Electricians Mate.

He was a Senior Metallurgist at Armco Steel Corp. when he retired in 1982 after 36 years service.

He was born in Holiday, Texas, on

Sept.28, 1926, and moved with his family across Texas during the Great Depression era from several places to live in Aransas Pass and from there to Channelview.

He married Muril Knight in 1947, moved to Kansas City, Mo., for several years before moving back to Channelview. Troy lived, worked and raised his family in Channelview until retiring to a ranch in Delhi, (Caldwell County) Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Muril Knight Hart, 88; son, Troy M. “Tim” Hart and wife, Julie, of Lockhart; son, W. David Hart and wife, Jonell, of Shreveport, La.; daughter, Virginia “Jenny” Schubert, of Port Lavaca, Texas; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held in Port O’Connor, Texas on April 19 at 10 a.m.
