She was born Jan. 3, 1925, in Austin, Texas, to Oscar D. Moore and Lola Bula Wofford Moore. She married Murry M. Pogue on Oct. 23, 1942. They were married for 65 years and had three daughters.

Marie loved her family and was a homemaker. After Murry retired in 1982, they moved to Lytton Springs. Marie had always been a caregiver to the elderly. The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the staff of Colonial Bell Nursing Home, Bellville, for their care and assistance.

Marie’s family and friends gathered on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Pettytown Cemetery, near Red Rock, to bid her farewell. Rev. Geary McManus of Lexington officiated at the graveside services.
