Zorada Mae (Petty) Ray was born in Pettytown, Texas, in the homestead of her parents Nolan and Maggie Petty on Aug. 17, 1936.
Zorada lived most of her life in Lockhart. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Tony Ray on Dec. 21, 1957; in December 2007, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Zorada graduated from Nixon-Clay Business College in 1956. She was

a faithful member of Faith Chapel for 30 years, where she always worked hard and assisted in all church related activities. Zorada worked at the County Courthouse as a County Clerk for 15 years.
She was a beloved mother and grandmother who always put family first. With her delicious meals and gracious hospitality, Zorada always strived to make every family occasion a memorable one. And with her warm and loving spirit it was always known that her family was her passion. She passed with her loved ones beside her and was peaceful in the end. She lived her life with style and grace and we will miss her very much.
