The search for Lockhart’s next city manager is coming to a head.
One of four finalists who have emerged from the nearly-four-month search will likely succeed longtime city manager Vance Rodgers, who announced his looming retirement in January. Rodgers said at the time that he intended to retire on or about June 30.
With June just around the corner, the Lockhart City Council will conduct two days of meetings beginning this Saturday at 1 p.m. during which they will get their first in-person meetings with the four candidates, who were narrowed down from a pool of 15 semifinalists. The candidates – all of whom are from Texas – will meet with the council on Saturday and Sunday and will have dinner as a group at Giovanni’s in Lockhart on Saturday night.
