The City of Martindale has received a 2014 Texas Community Development Block Grant (TxCDBG) contract under the Community Development Fund from the Texas Department of Agriculture. In order to comply with the Civil Rights requirements of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act and the Fair Housing Law and to ensure that equal opportunities are afforded to all persons and that no person shall be excluded or denied program benefits on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or age, the City of Martindale has established policies, plans and resolutions for the following:

FAIR HOUSING PUBLIC SERVICE
ANNOUNCEMENT
To promote fair housing practices, the City of Martindale encourages potential homeowners and renters to be aware of their rights under the National Fair Housing Law. Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended, prohibits discrimination against any person on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin in the sale or rental of units in the housing market. For more information on fair housing or to report possible fair housing discrimination, call the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s toll-free hotline at 1-800-669-9777.

The City of Martindale does not discriminate on the basis of disability in the admission or access to, or employment in, its program or activities. Tom Forrest, City Administrator, has been designated to coordinate compliance with the nondiscrimination requirements contained in the Department of Housing and Urban Development”s (HUD) regulations implementing Section 504 (24 CFR Part 8. dated June 2, 1988).

PROCEDURES
The City of Martindale has adopted complaint and grievance procedures outlined in the following steps:
- Submit comment or complaint in writing to Tom Forrest, City Administrator, City Hall, 409 Main Street, Martindale, Texas 78655, or by phone at (512) 357-2639 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays).
- The City Administrator or appointee shall conduct an investigation into same and report the findings to the City Council.
- The City Council shall notify the complainant, in writing, of the findings of any investigation conducted within 10 working days after being presented in a regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council, and what action, if any, is deemed necessary.

Bid Notice
Lockhart ISD is accepting proposals for E-RATE eligible Wide Area Network Services. For a proposal package for these services, please contact Tanya Homann at 512-398-0052 or fax 512-398-0031. These proposals are posted on the USAC website under schools and library programs per E-RATE requirements along with the district’s website. The proposals are due Monday, February 16, 2015 at 2 PM CST at Attn: Tanya Homann, Lockhart ISD, 105 S. Colorado St., Lockhart, TX 78644. No faxed or emailed proposals will be accepted. Lockhart ISD reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
