In 1941, Doris married Wilbert Charles Cyphers, and to this union, four children were born. Doris later married Clyde Fairfax, with whom she shared one son.
Doris was an entrepreneur with marketable skills. She was a hairstylist in Lockhart. Doris was known for her cooking and her biscuits were famous in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dot’s Biscuits were sold in local stores where people went daily just for her homemade biscuits.
Doris’ parents preceded her in death, as did both her husbands, Wilbert Cyphers and Clyde Fairfax; and two children, son Calvin Paul Cyphers, and daughter, Faye Alma Cyphers.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Cynthia Diane Rozier, and two sons, Wilbert Cyphers, Jr., and Clyde Fairfax, Jr., all of Austin; 11 grandchildren: Theodore Moore, of Austin, Dexter Moore, of San Antonio, Corey Moore, of Austin, Shelonda Lane, of Dallas, Carl Haynes, of Seattle, Carmen Harris (Michael), of Austin, Shelonda Cyphers, of Lockhart, Justin Owens, of Austin, Alisa Cyphers, LaDana Fonteneau, of Austin, and Wilbert Cyphers, III, of Lockhart; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
A visitation was held at Eeds Funeral Home, on Wednesday, Feb. 25, beginning at 11 a.m. Funeral services followed at noon, with her pastor officiating. All arrangements with Eeds Funeral Home, 408 S. Main St., Lockhart, Texas 78644. (512) 398-2343.
