Marcy Youngman
Marcelleen “Marcy” Youngman, 70, of Lytton Springs, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She was born on July 1, 1944 in Westphalia, Iowa to Norbert Matthew and Dolores Elizabeth Gross.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; who also enjoyed being in many organizations like the Gifts for the Unborn, Ladies Alter Society, 4-H Leader, Texas Master Natural
ist, and she was a past president of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Thomas and Samuel Gross.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Fred Henry Youngman; three sons: David Youngman of Austin, Paul Youngman, of Jacksonville, Texas, and Steven Youngman of Lockhart; her daughter, Teresa Walton, of Austin; two brothers, Dr. Randy Gross, of Boiling Springs, S. C., and James Gross of Manilla, Iowa; three sisters: MaryJane Brody, of Omaha, Neb., Virginia Kruse, of Harlan, Iowa, and Lorie Bandow of Manilla, Iowa; and four granddaughters: Madeline, Abigail, Kristen and Lauren.
Family received friends at McCurdy Funeral Home, from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. They also received friends at 9 a.m. at the funeral home before mass of a Catholic Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lockhart, with Fr. Melvin Dornak celebrating. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Youngman, Paul Youngman, Steven Youngman, John Walton, Randall Gross and James Gross.

My condolences to Marcy’s family. She was a loving mother, helpful friend, and cheerful worker at church. I enjoyed going with her to train as a Texas Master Naturalist. So sorry that she will no longer be with us to offer her kindness and expertise.

I m so sorry to hear of Marcy’s passing. She was a wonderful person. I was privileged to work with her many years in the 4-H program. She blessed my life and those of many young people. She will be missed.
