Myrtle Clay

Myrtle Dean Clay, age 69, was called home to rest on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006. She was under the leadership of The First Baptist Church of Lockhart, Texas.
Her dearest family and friends knew her as Mama Mert and will miss her dearly.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1937 in Lockhart. She was the oldest of four children born to Colesia Bell Shannon and Eddie Jones of Lock

hart.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Te”Andre Clay.
She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Isiah Clay Jr.; six children, Vickie (Chubby), Isiah Clay III, Robert (Teresa), Pamela (Pops), Terry Clay, Colesia Clay and Demarion Blackshear; one brother; two sisters; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 at The First Baptist Church in Lockhart at 11 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
