Georgia Fahrig
Georgia Lynn Fahrig, the youngest daughter of Bryan and Doretta “Dee” Tracy Fahrig, slipped her mortal bonds on Aug. 25, 2017, at the age of 49.
Born on May 2, 1968, and raised in San Antonio, Georgia was a city girl with a country heart. Her life was happiest when she was “living the country life,” surrounded by family, friends and her beloved animals. She graduated
from San Antonio East Central High School, and attended St. Philip”s College in San Antonio.
Georgia was proud to be a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #210, and selflessly devoted her time and resources to Jesus and Kids Equestrian. She a well-known fixture as a helper at her parents’ store, Simple Sewing Solutions. Her love and understanding of animals was well known, not only among her friends and family, but her neighbors. Every time livestock got loose or a stray cat showed up in the neighborhood, people looked to Georgia to help somehow – usually, she used her love, knowledge and understanding to help the lost animals find their way home.
Georgia is survived by her parents; sisters, Rhonda Simmons and Virginia Moeller; her treasured nephew, Jakob Simmons; and “half of Lockhart,” a host of beloved friends she considered family. She is also survived by animals all over the State of Texas, including two cats, three dogs, three horses and 70 goats.
A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2017, at the Lockhart City Cemetery beginning at 2 p.m. The family will receive visitors afterwards at a reception at the Masonic Lodge in Lockhart, located at 602 Main St.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCurdy Funeral Home.

We will miss you so much Georgia. I know you are riding in Heaven and explaining to all the other Angels how to ride. You are a born teacher and awesome person. I feel so fortunate that God allowed us to be friends and thank you for showing me what unconditional love was for every person and animal you met.
My fondest memory is riding with you and Walk-about both in the arena and on the county roads. You guys were a beautiful pair and always ready for a challenge.
I know God needs you in Heaven taking care of His glorious stable, and we will join you some day. Please have a couple of those steeds saddled and ready.
Love you with all my heart, Sue
