Marvanell Russell
Marvanell Traylor Russell was born Aug. 28, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas. She passed away at the Golden Age Home in Lockhart on Aug. 22, 2007.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Traylor and Lora Caperton Traylor; two sisters, Lucille Hart and Betty Storey; and a brother, Jim Traylor.
She is survived by her three daughters, Marty Russell of San Pedro,
Calif., Betty Ann Hailey and husband, Bob, of Lockhart, and Jacqui Russell of Chicago; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Ben and Karl Hailey; and Shiri Gross; two nieces; and one brother, James Willis and his wife, Helen.
She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She loved to read. She also loved art, puzzles, brain teasers, musicals and gardening. She always loved the beach. While in Acapulco deep sea fishing, she caught a swordfish. She loved Square Dancing. She rode a camel at the pyramids and took a donkey trip to Petra in Southwestern Jordan.
She loved to play Bingo at Golden Age and she enjoyed winning the prizes so she could give them away.
She was a member of the Lockhart Church of Christ, where her son-in-law preached.
