John Thompson Storey McMillan

John Thompson Storey McMillan, Sr., 81, passed away on Friday, Sept. 21 in Austin. He was born Jan. 14, 1926 in Lockhart to Lawrence William and Leila Kate Storey McMillan.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. He married Jean Esther Burns on July 24, 1948, in Luling. He was a member of the Gonzales Primitive Baptist Church, the Gonzales American Legion, the

Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Gonzales Elks Lodge and was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Roundtable. He owned and operated McMillan Insurance Agency in Gonzales for 30 years.
He is survived by his daughter Melissa McMillan Jones of Gonzales; sons and daughter-in-law, John McMillan, Jr., of Lockhart, and Mark and Judy McMillan of Cedar Park; grandchildren Sarah McMillan of Kyle, and Alex McMillan and Ellen McMillan both of Cedar Park.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sisters Katherine Davis and Juleanne McMillan, and a brother, William McMillan.
Funeral services were held on Monday Sept. 24, 2007, at 10 am. in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Vance Rodgers officiating. Interment followed in the Lockhart City Cemetery.
The family received friends on Sunday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
