My thoughts and prayers go out to Coach Coppedge and his family. He was an excellent basketball coach, despite not being able to teach me to shoot with my right hand. God knows he tried. Well after my high school and college years, my wife and I ran into Coach Coppedge in a Lockhart store. Seeing that my wife was pregnant, he told my wife, “Congratulations, and I hope your baby is left-handed because Jimmy doesn’t have a right hand.”
Coach Coppedge cared about his players and the students he taught, was always accessible, and pushed us all to be better. May God bless him and his entire family.
