The public is invited to attend the free monthly Lost Pines Master Naturalist (LPMN) dinner, presentation, and chapter business meeting on Monday, September 16th at the Buescher State Park recreation hall in Bastrop, Texas. Starting at 6:00 PM.
Bill Wren, a recipient of the Hoag/Robinson Award from the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA), will be our speaker. For 20 years Bill has worked to protect the public investment in McDonald Observatory by advocating and educating for astronomy-friendly lighting. Nowadays, light pollution blocks most of us from enjoying the beauty of the night sky. Many people have never even seen the Milky Way. But we can have great lighting without light pollution. Come hear Bill discuss this issue.
LPMN members will host a potluck dinner starting at 6:00 PM. The feature presentation will begin at 6:30. At 7:30 there will be short break followed by the chapter’s monthly business meeting.
