Clyde Donald Staton
Clyde Donald Staton, 83, of Tilmon, passed away on June 25, 2008, at his home. He was born on Aug. 5, 1924, to Clyde Donald and Ella (Boenig) Staton, Sr., in Gonzales County.
Clyde served his country as a Merchant Marine, in World War II. He was united in matrimony with his wife Nettie Lea Williams, on February 14, 1946, on Valentine’s Day.
He was preceded in
death by his parents Clyde and Ella Staton, Sr.; grandson, Donald “Bubba” Staton; brother, Robert Kenneth Staton; and wife, Nettie Lea Williams Staton.
Clyde is survived by his son, Jesse Thomas Staton and wife, Delores, of Navasota; brother, Dudley Staton, of Gonzales; grandson, Gerald Lynn Staton; granddaughter, Phyllis Diane Andrews; nine great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Staton will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Clearfork Baptist Church, with Wayne McCrary officiating. Fellowship and reception will follow after services.
