Lady Lions win consolation at Shiner tourney

The Varsity Lady Lions finished with a 7-6 record after a consolation win over Gonzales at the Shiner Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 23.
Lockhart vs. Gonzales
The Lady Lions defeated Gonzales 25-22, 23-25 and 25-23.
All Tournament Team honors went to Shelby Henrichs, who contributed 13 digs and three aces to the gam
e.
Jessica Guerra led the team in assists with 16 while Jamie Schulle made 11. Schulle also contributed 10 kills, seven digs and two aces.
Ashley Moore led the Lady Lions in kills with 13 while Jesi Greer had six. Moore also had 10 digs and Greer made one block.
Chelsy Martinez had seven digs, Heather Domel had two aces, Isis Johnson made two blocks and Meredith Moore made one.
On Friday, Aug 22 at the Shiner Tourney, the Lady Lions were at 6-6 after three matches.
Lockhart vs. Weimar
The Lady Lions fell to Weimar 26-24, 20-25 and 12-13 during round one.
Henrichs led the team with 24 digs, while A. Moore and Guerra each had six. A. Moore also contributed four kills, two blocks and one ace. Guerra also made 12 assists. Schulle led the team in kills with eight and seven assists. Gabby Galvan had four kills and one block.
Lockhart vs. Wolfe City
Wolfe City fell 25-15 and 25-16 to Lockhart during round two.
Guerra had 11 assists and two aces. Schulle had seven kills, four assists and two blocks. Henrichs had eight digs and three aces. Martinez had seven digs and three aces. A. Moore had six digs and four kills. Galvan had three kills and two blocks.

Nixon-Smiley
Nixon-Smiley fell 25-18 and 25-12 to the Lady Lions during round three.
Guerra led the team with 10 assists. Schulle had six kills, four aces and three assists. Greer had four kills and two blocks. Henrichs had four digs and three aces. A. Moore had four digs and Isis Johnson made one block.
The Varsity and JV Lady Lions play at Clemens on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Game times are 5 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. The Freshmen play at Clemens/East Central at 5 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.
