JV Lions shut down Wildcats

The Junior Varsity Lions defeated the Gregory-Portland Wildcats 21-7 during an away game at Gregory-Portland on Thursday, Sept. 25, improving their record to 5-0.

The hard-fought victory was a team effort that featured touchdown runs by Brooks Pittman and Nolan Lockhart, who rushed for more than 100 yards in the game.

The Wildcats were shut down by the Lion defense in the second half. The Lions swarmed all over the Wildcats, forcing three significant turnovers, which helped secure the win.

The JV Lions will have two weeks to prepare for their first district contest of the season. The Lions will travel to Del Valle to play against the Cardinals at the Veterans Memorial Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Veterans Memorial Stadium is located at 5201 Ross Rd. Del Valle, Texas.
