Virginia O. Reyna

Mrs. Virginia O. Reyna was called to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at the age of 76. She was born on April 22, 1932. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be missed by many.

Mrs. Reyna was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Mauro Reyna, Jr.; her parents, Felipe and Gregoria Garza;

her grandson, Jacob Reyna; brothers, Norberto, Ramon, Cecilio and Francisco Garza and Sostenes Aguilar; and brothers-in-law, Richard Weis and Alberto Garza.

She is survived by her loving family, Mauro L. Reyna, III (Paula), Marina Reyna, Eduardo Reyna (Marilu), Xavier Reyna (Shirley), Maria Elena Jackson (Curtis) and Cecilia Villarico (Gilbert). She was blessed with the joy of her 10 grandchildren: Cordelia Hoyuela, Michelle Wood (Adam), Annette Salinas, Eduardo Reyna, II, Mauro L. Reyna, IV, Curtis Stanley Jackson, Jr., Hannah Villarico, Nicolas E. Reyna, Matthew and Christopher Jackson; five great-grandchildren: Juan Jose and Marilyn Hoyuela, Jaclyn Jackson, Santiago Rodriguez, and Christian Lozano; and her sisters, Ofelia Garza, Socorro Guarrnero (Oswaldo) and Maria Cesaria Weis.

Recitation of the Rosary was at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009 at DeLeon Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent DePaul or the American Heart Association.
