She is surviv

She was also recently blessed with her first great-grandson, Daniel Conley, of Austin.
Arlene joined First Lockhart Baptist Church in 1939 where she and M.D. served faithfully until her health declined. She was active in both the Women’s Missionary Union and in various areas of the Sunday School Department. For many years, she and M.D. were the Youth Leaders for the church and are still remembered today by many of the earlier youth members of the church for the many summer church camps that were spent at Alto Frio Baptist Encampment in the Texas Hill Country. She remained devoted to her church and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
She and M.D. moved to Dallas, Texas, during World War II where they both worked at North American Aviation. They returned to Lockhart in 1945, where Arlene remained a resident until her death. As a loving mother and grandmother throughout her life, Arlene was a homemaker to her family and a companion and helper to her husband. She never missed an activity that her children were involved in, and throughout her life, she assisted M.D. in various endeavors including an upholstery business, a multi-phased chicken and egg business, a construction company, and the establishing of Store and Lock Self-Storage in Lockhart during the 1970s.
