Contreras, Scott shine for LJH golfers

Jayse Contreras was the individual winner at Lockhart Junior High’s recent golf match at Wimberly’s Double J Golf Course.
The Lions placed second as a team, losing to San Marcos #2 team by just two strokes and besting San Marcos #1.
Karlee Scott, one of just two LJH girl golfers, finished in a tie for second with a 68. Teammate Marital Capetillo shot a 69.
“Our team played well,” Hudson said. “We had a combined boys’ team of 7th and 8th grade.”
The rest of the boys’ scores for LJH included Carter Jones at 68, and Sam Marcos and Roy Ruiz with 72s.
Coach Franklin Hudson’s Junior High Lions will compete at the District Tournament on Wednesday, May 10, at Colavista Golf Course in Bastrop.
