Lions’ J.V. victorious over Taylor Ducks
Lockhart vs. Taylor
The Lions hosted the Taylor Ducks on Friday, Feb. 4, in an exciting game that gave Lockhart a 54-52 win.
“We knew this was going to be a difficult game from the get go,” said Coach Brandon Durst. “At half time we were down by one, and at the end of the third quarter we were down by four. Then in the fourth quarter, with only 1:40 left o
n the clock, we jumped in our press and took over the game. Our press totally took the Ducks by surprise and they just could not handle the pressure. The guys executed the press perfectly. They definitely demonstrated they wanted the game more than the Ducks.”
Scoring in the double digits for Lockhart was Brandon Hodges with 15 points, Alex Joseph with 13 points, Thomas Elizondo with 12 points and Terrance Walden with 10 points.
Lockhart vs. Connally

“Tonight we were a little short handed,” said Durst. “We were missing two key guys that could have really helped us out. Connally is really fast, and they have a lot of kids. We just ran out of gas and couldn’t fill the hole we dug in the first half.”

Lockhart vs. Del Valle
The Lions faced the skilled Del Valle Cardinals on Friday, Jan. 28, for a tough match that resulted in a 66-71 loss.

Scoring for the Lions was Hodges with 20 points including nine out of ten free throws, Elizondo with 15 points and Lampkin with 14 points.
Lockhart vs. Vista Ridge
The Lions matched up against Vista Ridge on Tuesday, Jan. 25, for a victorious game, 87-44.

“In the third quarter, we outscored the Rangers 29 – 6. This by far, was our best quarter, and the guys really gelled together.”
Scoring in the double-digits for Lockhart were Dustin Garza with 20 points including nine points from three-pointers, Walden with 12 points including nine points from three-pointers, Hodges with 10 points and Foster Smith with 10 points.
