Gregory Wayne Stovall
Gregory Wayne Stovall, best known to his friends as “Stovie,” “Yellow,” and “Repo Man,” was a beautiful person inside and out; he was a caring and understanding person who was loved by all. He knew no strangers and loved people. One of things that was well known about his personality was his sense of humor – a natural-born comedian, able to strike up a joke or hu
morous comment about any and everything. This was a unique talent he possessed, which made everyone want to be around him.
Wayne attended Lockhart High School where he received numerous athletic awards and honors. During his high school career, Wayne had extraordinary skills in his performance when it came to basketball and track and field. One of the most memorable times is when he was dunking hoops left and right in a basketball game over the shorter guys. His athletic abilities resulted in a basketball scholarship to Panhandle State University to pursue a bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Physical Education.
Wayne had a group of friends which became special buddies and they formed a strong lifetime bond and supported each other in all aspects of each of their lives.
In his leisure, Wayne loved a good game of dominoes and talked a lot of smack to you, especially if he was winning. He also loved the outdoors (barbecueing, fishing, lounging) anything that would draw him to spend time outdoors.
Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Edward Stovall.
Wayne leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Willie and Dorothy Brite, of Lockhart; daughters: Destiny Marie Stovall, Karla Mae Stovall, Michaelan C’bria Recio, all of Lockhart; special friend and companion, Marcy Abrego; Johnny (Junior), Julian and Monique; sisters, Carolyn Elaine Moore (James), of Manor, Cherilyn Gayle Wadley (Charles), of Austin, and Bette J. I feel sad, because i was never around him that much, i wish i was able to interact and socialize with him more. I never knew about his death untill I called my mother Marcy Abrego, but what makes me more sad is that i didnt attend his funeral. I really loved Wayne, he was indeed a respectful man if you showed respect back, he did have a good since of humor, and he’d like to barbecue alot, and can sure tell you, it was delicious. He would be quiet, but theres times when he can be loud, but thats when hes having a good time with everyone around. No doubt we got along just fine. The thing is, i would only shake his hand, and i only gave him one hug. Theres not much i can say about him, but i took him as my only and actual step-father, i just wish i would’ve told him that. Theres alot of things we didnt get to do with eachother, but i knew he loved me and i loved him back. May god rest his soul, and i will see him again when my time comes.
