Late rallies lifts Lockhart past Crockett Cougars

Peyton Johnson scored 20 points and Mia Lewis 16 – all in the second half – as Lockhart rallied from a 10-point deficit after three quarters to beat Crockett of Austin, 55-52, on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Lions Den.

Crockett jumped out on top of Lockhart, 14-5, after one quarter, 26-14 at the half, and still led 43-33 heading into the fourth period before the Lions began their rally.

Lewis had four 3-pointers included in her second-half barrage. Johnson scored 10 in each half. Lizzie Station scored all 7 of her points in the final two periods as well.

Also scoring for Lockhart were Venessa Guzman with 5, Delilah Peralez 3, and 2 each from Natalia Hinojosa and Marissa Sosa.
