Last Friday the Lockhart community braved the elements and showed up to support the Education Foundation for Lockhart ISD in a big way for one of the biggest fundraisers held in Lockhart annually.

Unless you were walking to and from the event, you may not have even noticed the weather that loomed outside. Three big white tents gave shelter to hundreds of attendees as they enjoyed the atmosphere at the 50 Lions Who Can Cook fundraiser.

The energy in the rooms kept everyone on their toes while DJ Rob Ortiz played some tunes for everyone to tap those same toes to.

VIP entry began at 6pm right in time to purchase one of over 125 bags of goodies including gift cards, spirits and merch from area businesses.

Two chefs at twenty-six booths handed out their biggest and best dishes to all who bellied up to their booth.

The live auction had hands reaching for the sky on great items like 1-2 and 7 day vacation trips, hunts, custom fishing rods, a pistol and a rifle, items made by LHS students and much more garnering thousands of dollars that will be handed out in the form of grants to classrooms across the LISD.

But the bragging rights went to several groups and organizations who made their most creative recipes to be taste-tested and hopefully had a token placed in their jar.

Everyone brought their A game to compete but ultimately the winners were:
