April 4, 1944- June 15, 2026

Henry John Motloch of Bastrop, Texas died peacefully June 15, 2026, surrounded by family at the age of 82. He was born April 4, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas to August and Annie Motloch and was raised in Austin, Texas. Henry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and Korea. After his military service, he dedicated decades of hard work in construction. He was a strong man with a kind heart, a quick wit, and a sense of humor that could make anyone smile. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He found joy in the simple things he loved most – bull riding, fishing, hunting, caring for his cows, tending his garden, and growing the tomatoes he was so proud of each year. Above all else, family meant everything to him. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend whose love, stories, and guidance will live on forever. His legacy lives on in the memories he created, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave so freely. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, August Sr. and Annie Motloch, and his brothers, August Jr. and James. He is survived by his former wife, Cyndi, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Together, they raised a beautiful family and are survived by their three children: Tina (David), Tracy (Jeffrey Sr.), and Troy (Heather). He is also survived by his brother, Raymond; his sister, Frances, (Robert); many nieces, nephews and their families; and his longtime companion, Marilyn Johnson. He was the proud PaPa of 22 grandkids: Heather (Michael), Daylon (Jennifer), Hannah (William), Branden, Halley (Brandon), Brysen (Rachel), Devon (Haley), Jeffrey, Rebekah (Rory), Harley, Rope, Jenna, Cord, Alyssa, Lacy, Dylan, Rylan, Julia, Rein, Carter, Gabriella, and Annabelle. His grandsons will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. And the loving great-grandfather to Talon, Ezra, Boone, Autumn, Trinidad, Alexandra, and another sweet blessing on the way. A Church Service will be held on July 18, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pflugerville, Texas at 11:00 am. The family would like to thank St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, Beacon House of Round Rock, and Immanuel Lutheran Church for their exceptional care, support, compassion, and kindness shown to Henry and his family.
