Maria Gonzalez

Maria Isabel Gonzalez, 81, of Lockhart passed away peacefully in Austin on Saturday, June 26, 2011. She was a housewife and devoted Catholic all her life. Maria was born in Zacatecaz, Mexico, on Sept. 2, 1929, to Blaz and Casimira Rozalez Gonzalez.

lm Springs, Calif., Garciela and husband, Martin Vazquez, and Gustavo Tovar and wife, Nancy; two sisters: Bartola and Dolores Gonzalez; brothers: Guadalupe, Juan and Arnulfo Gonzalez; 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A visitation was held from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Eeds Funeral Home, with recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m. Deacon Guadalupe Aguilar officiated.

The Mass of Celebration was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Rafael Padilla officiating. A burial followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were: Carlos Vasquez, Fabian Tovar, Ceaser Vasquez, Daniel Tovar, Daniel Cadena, and Emanuel Gonzalez.

In remembrance of Isabel’s granddaughters, Ana Isabel and Karla Lizbeth, daughters of Garciela and Martin Vasquez, Ana Isabel and Karla Lizbeth’s ashes were interred with their beloved grandmother.
