Paula Simmons

Paula Sue Simmons, 66, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 30, 2011. Paula was born in Yoakum, Texas, on Oct. 14, 1945.

She worked as radiology tech for 35 years before retiring to the Lockhart area to be close to her family.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Delphine Simmons, and her beloved brother, Larry Paul Simmons Sr., this past year.

She is survi

ved by her nephew Larry Simmons, Jr., and his wife Michelle; sister-in-law, Suzy Simmons; aunts, Mildred Gabbart (Jimmy) and LuLu Hannes (Robert); grand-nieces and nephews,  Brandy, Brittney, Jessica, Larry Paul Simmons, III, Alexis, Breelyn, and Jonathan; and numerous cousins.

The family planned to receive callers on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, from 6 – 9 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapel, 3401 Cherry Ridge, San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services were planned on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at 12 p.m. at Mission Burial Park North Mausoleum Chapel, with interment following immediately afterward.

Serving as pallbearers are Larry Simmons, Jr., Larry Simmons, III, Brad Gabbart, Randy Gabbart, Bennie Dake and Rogelio Soto. Honorary pallbearers are Robert “Pinky” Hannas and Jimmy Gabbart.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Paula’s honor to Cause for Paws of Lockhart, Texas, or the Ebenezer Lutheran Church, in Maxwell, Texas.
