Louava Lynn Bunch
Louava Lynn Bunch was the daughter of Lowry and Annie (New) Bunch, born Nov. 18, 1928, in Lockhart, Texas.
Lynn graduated from Lockhart High School in 1948 and attended the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor at Belton, Texas.
She was employed by the State Comptroller”s office in Austin, Texas for 40 years. Retiring Oct. 31, 1992, she received letters of congratulations from
John R. Sharp, the Comptroller and from Governor Ann Richards. She had been a faithful and dedicated employee to the State of Texas.
After her retirement she stayed active serving her church, sewing for two small great-great nieces, and baking bread and cakes for her friends and neighbors.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, H.L. Bunch.
She is survived by three sisters, Annie Lee Means, Emma Vann and Gwynne Ray, all of Temple, Texas, and one brother, Joe H. Bunch, of Lockhart. Surviving nieces are Sandra Stafford (Frank), Jo Ann Cline (Virgil), Gay Culpepper (Sam), Pamela Manly (Walter), Lanu Hogan (Roy) and Margaret Huckabee (Charles). Retired General Gary Bunch (Lauren), Lowry Vann, Scott Ray (Kim), and Paul Ray (Dawn) are her surviving nephews.
Lynn is also survived by five great-nieces, three great-great-nieces and eight great-nephews. She always enjoyed them when they were small to take them shopping at Wal-Mart for clothing or toys.
Lynn will be sorely missed by all her family and friends and above all her little black dog, Bonnie who was her companion for over 12 years. Lynn missed Bonnie when she was in the hospital and Bonnie truly missed Lynn. Bonnie is adjusting to a new home with her Aunt Gwynne.
Lynn was a member of the Pendleton Baptist Church at Pendleton, Texas. She was also a member of the Fleur-de-Les” Huguenot Chapter of Austin, Texas and The Employee Retirement System of Texas, Austin, Texas.
A visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 22 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lockhart Baptist Church, 315 West Prairie Lea St., in Lockhart. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Gary Rodgers officiating. Burial followed at the Lockhart City Cemetery.
