William Earl “Bill” Turner, of Lockhart, passed away in Austin , Texas, on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at the age of 80. He was born on April 18, 1925, in Sabinal, Texas, to William and Ursula (Koch) Turner.
Bill married Rose Marie Graef, on Sept. 1, 1947. He attended St Mary”s Catholic Church in Lockhart, where he was actively involved. He was a member of Hermann Sons a

nd Holy Name Society.
His parents, son-in-law, Brad Barnes, and two brothers, Clarence and Milton Turner, and a sister, Geneva Loran preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Marie (Graef) Turner; two sons, Steve Turner and his wife, Pam (Power) of Pleasanton, Texas, and David Turner and his wife, Lydia (Salazar) of Lockhart; daughter, Mary Ellen Barnes of Seguin, Texas; sisters, Lorene Zerr of D”Hanis, Texas, Mary Huser and husband Hilary of Blanco, Texas, and Patsy Norwood and husband Sherrill of Beaumont. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Allison Barnes Seidenberger, Chris Turner, Frances Turner Merecka, Will Turner, Amber Barnes Dwyer, Timothy Turner, Paul Turner and Christi Turner; seven great-grandchildren, Braden Dwyer, Cayden Turner, Sydney Merecka, Kai Seidenberger, Delaney Dwyer, Levi Turner and Tyler Seidenberger.
Bill was a devoted family man and he will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation was held at 5 p.m. on Monday Jan. 2, 2006, followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday Jan. 3, 2006, at St. Mary”s Catholic Church. Interment followed at Live Oak Cemetery in Uhland, Texas.
Pallbearers in attendance were Chris Turner, Will Turner, Donny Merecka, Aaron Seidenberger, Josh Dwyer, Tim Turner, Paul Turner and Wes Bennett; Honorary pallbearers were his nephews.
