Jeffery Robenalt

On Saturday, March 8, the spirit of Jeffery Robenalt departed this world. He was born in Tiffin, Ohio, on Jan. 31, 1947, and graduated from Tiffin”s Columbian High School. He served his country honorably in Vietnam in the United States Marine Corps. Shortly after his Marine discharge, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he forged a successful career, retiring with the rank of Ca

ptain. He earned his BA in History, magna cum laude, from New York University in New York, and earned a BS in Sociology, summa cum laude, from Troy University in Troy, Ala.

After his military career, Jeff graduated from Texas Tech University with a Doctor of Jurisprudence and practiced law with a dedication to fairness and justice. He served as an attorney for the State of Texas as Chief of Investigations, TWCC. Jeff eventually found his true calling in education as an admired teacher at Lockhart Junior High School, where he taught social studies and athletics, always committed to the education and welfare of his students. Jeff was a passionate and respected Texas historian, author of Historic Tales from the Texas Republic: A Glimpse of Texas Past as well as a series of historic western novels: Saga of a Texas Ranger, Star Over Texas and The Bloody Frontier.

He was a man of great strength and honor, but his spirit was full of a gentle kindness that he never failed to share with those he loved. He was an incredibly funny man and the laughter he shared still rings in the ears of his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife Lizabeth Robenalt; son, Bruce Matthew Robenalt (from his first marriage to Rita Floyd); daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hill Robenalt; grandson, Benjamin Robenalt; sister, Jaci Franklin; brother, Robert Robenalt; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Robenalt.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Lt. General Thomas S. Bishop All Faiths Chapel at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas located at 2200 W. 35th Street.
