Richard Doores
Richard “Dick” Doores, 80, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014. Richard was born in Electra, Wichita County, Texas on July 17, 1934, to Thelma Elizabeth Coffey and Howard Allen Doores. He grew up in Electra, graduated from Electra High School. He attended the University of Texas at Austin graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Richard married Doris
Marilyn Haynes, his high school sweetheart. Richard’s interests were running, golf, coaching kids and Longhorn sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Howard Doores.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Doores; his children, Steven Doores, M.D., of Dallas, Shauna Pollan, of Alvin, and Gale Lindsey, of Lockhart; his brothers, Robert Doores and James Doores; grandchildren, Laura Beth King, Brock Doores, Lindsey Pollan, and Alex and Erin Lindsey; and great-granddaughter, Sarah Michelle King.
Memorial Contributions in Richard’s memory may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 1340 Wonder World Drive, Suite 4202, San Marcos, Texas 78666.
A Celebration of Life gathering will take place on Nov. 23, 2014, in Lockhart Texas at the home of Doris Doores, 506 St. Thomas from noon – 3 p.m. A second gathering will be hosted in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area in December.
