Bill Smylie

William Gordon (“Bill”) Smylie was born in McCamey, Texas, on March 23, 1927 to Avie Frances Moore and Thomas David Smylie, Sr. He went to meet his Heavenly Father on May 11, 2016.
Bill graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, Texas, in 1945, and attended the University of Houston.
He was in the Air Force from 1945-1947, and was recalled to service in 1951

. He married Betty Sue Harper in 1947, and leaves her behind to cherish his memory.
Bill retired from Transcontinental Gas Pipeline in Houston, Texas in 1978 and moved to the Texas Hill Country, where he spent 30 years. He then finished his days in Martindale, Texas, where he was a faithful member of “The Little Green Church in Martindale.”
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Thomas David Smylie, Jr.
He is survived by his wife; his children, Linda Lynn Bochenek, of Clifton, Colo., and James Randall Smylie, of San Marcos, Texas; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. on Sautrday, May 28, 2016, at the Martindale Methodist Church.
