Carol Anne Beaver
Carol Anne Beaver went to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2011. She passed away at her home near Lockhart following a long and valiant battle with cancer. She was the first of four daughters born to James D. Brasher and Betty A. Hodges. Carol was born Dec. 19, 1955, in Pasadena, Texas.
In addition to her father and mother, Carol is survived by: her loving husband of
seven years, Jeff Beaver; three sons: Michael, Dustin and Layton Warmack; Layton’s wife, Holly; two granddaughters, Kelsie Anne Warmack and Maddy Ruiz; one grandson, Layton Leles Warmack; and three sisters, Vicki Perdue, Barbara Payne and Terri Barton. She is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, step-father, two brothers-in-law, two step-daughters and her husband’s family.
Carol began her business career in Houston, Texas, as a bookkeeper for Brinadd Company, a multi-national workover and completion fluids company owned by her late stepfather, J. M. Jackson. While with Brinadd Company, Carol gained early knowledge of computerized accounting systems when she worked closely with the programmer to convert that hand-written system to a computerized one. After moving to the Lockhart area in 1988, Carol worked several years as secretary-bookkeeper in a local law office. She subsequently returned to the accounting field, first working for Lifeway, then Colombia Health Care and finally for Austin’s Cap-Metro system. Carol retired from Cap-Metro as its payroll manager.
A loving, caring, very giving woman with a ready smile and a twinkle in her eyes, Carol treasured her husband, large family and many friends. She especially enjoyed family gatherings, cookouts, being at the beach and traveling as often as she could. Though Carol will always remain in hearts and memories, her presence will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation was scheduled from 5 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. The funeral service was planned on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Michael Marsh officiating. Both will be at McCurdy Funeral Home, 105 E. Pecan, Lockhart, Texas. Interment at Luling Cemetery in Luling, Texas, will take place following the funeral service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Steve Hodges, Randy Perdue, Joe Barton, Roy Eklund, Thomas Eklund and Michael Payne.
The family deeply appreciates the at-home, loving care given to Carol the last six weeks of her life by the personnel of Central Texas Medical Center Hospice Care, 1315 IH-35 North, San Marcos, Texas.
