Charlsie Pittman Fielder
Charlsie Pittman Fielder, 88, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006. She had been a long time resident of Lockhart.
Charlsie was born on July 4, 1918, in Dale, Texas. She was married to John Buryl “Ben” Fielder on May 23, 1934, in Lockhart. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1997.
Charlsie was an avid geneaologist and a member of the DAR. She loved to cook for
her family, and she and Ben loved to travel, garden, and fish. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Dale.
Charlsie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph K. and Italy Copeland Pittman; by her husband, John Buryl “Ben” Fielder; and her sisters, Edith Pittman Stevens and Georgia Pittman.
She is survived by her three children, John Buryl Fielder, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Centerville; Joseph L. Fielder and his wife Linda of Port O”Connor and Eve Fielder Singleton and her husband Carl of Pasadena; 11 grandchildren, Candis Burns, Ben A. Fielder, Laurie King, Patricia Fielder, John K. Fielder, Amanda Fielder, Justin Fielder, David Welch, Sandra Kruse, Tiffany Miller and Dan Fielder; nine great-grandchildren, Robert, Shawn, Gracie, Courtney, Cheyne, Kristen, David, Kaitlin and Emily; and four great-great-grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Robert and Matthew.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, in the McCurdy Memorial Chapel with Jason Browning officiating. Interment followed in Bunton Cemetery in Dale. Pallbearers were Ben Fielder, Dan Fielder, Justin Fielder, Paul Burns, Chuck King and Robert Walker.
