Edward Bruce Stephens
Mr. Edward Bruce Stephens, 79, of Lockhart passed away on Sept. 18, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Stephens was born Oct. 13, 1925 in Dale to Jodie and Sulah Stephens. He attended Dale School and Lockhart High School. Bruce was a World War II veteran, having served with the 8th Air Force in Europe. He flew a B-17 bomber and completed 15 missions over Germany. r, he worked for 22 years in the oilfield industry, traveling to17 different countries for his career. Bruce worked for Hamilton Engineering as a Petroleum Consultant before his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lockhart, Texas.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ann Stephens; his brothers, Nathen, Galen, Udell, and Kenneth Stephens; his son, Jodie Stephens; his daughter, Pamela Eaker; and his grandson, Justin Murray.
He is survived by his son, Richard Stephens and his wife Patty of Luling; sister, Cylestial Sirkis of Lockhart; and grandchildren Emily Eaker of Lockhart and Whitney Murray and Jonathan Stephens of Luling.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005 at McCurdy Funeral Home. Private graveside services were held Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005 in Dale at the Bunton Cemetery.

I am Nathel son Bruce was my uncle of which I was always very proud. I am sorry I have lost contact with him as I have spent the last twenty years serving my country. I was with my uncle when he was burying his first wife Atheia and his baby son. I wish him god speed and I know he is now meeting his newborn son in heven along with all his brothers and parents. My sincere condolences to his family he will be truley missed. I have three daughters all married nad four grandchildren and expecting number five. It is a great loss to me for I love my uncle very much. I promise to stay in touch more since I will be retired soon.
