Elaine Marriott
Elaine E. Marriott died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, in Kyle at the age of 94. She was born Feb. 3, 1922 in Coahoma, Texas.
A lifelong Christian, she joined the Baptist Church as a child and later in Houston became a member of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, where she remained for 40 years.
In 1984 Elaine retired from the Harris County Hospital District in Houston
after 12 years of service and moved to Lockhart to care for her mother. Elaine joined the First Christian Church of Lockhart where she especially enjoyed the Christian Woman’s Fellowship. She made many good friends in Lockhart, outliving most of them.
Four years ago Elaine moved to Wimberley to be closer to her family but still took time to form new friendships, especially Barbara Dobbs and enjoyed attending Tuesday morning Bible Study at Wimberley Christian Church.
Elaine had a bright mind and great curiosity. At 94, she was still using the computer to send emails. Until the last week of her life she lived alone and bought her own groceries.
