Elbert Ray Evans
Elbert Ray Evans, 68, Lockhart, Texas, passed away on Jan. 23, 2011, in Luling, Texas. Elbert was born on Dec. 18, 1942, in Kyle, Texas.
Elbert was preceded in death by his daughter, Rolinda Evans; his parents, Arthur and Blanche Evans; brothers, Marvin L. Evans and Jimmie L. Evans; and sister, Wanda Dryden.
Elbert was retired from his business in Austin, where he owne
d and operated a marble and tile contracting business. Upon retiring, Elbert moved to Lockhart, where he met and married Ruby Vann.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; his children, Derek Evans and Mary Lynn Kostolnik; and two grandchildren, all of Austin. He also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Arthur M. Evans, Jr., of Lockhart, Elmer S. Evans, of Temple, Leslie D. Evans, of Bastrop, and George D. Evans, of Lockhart; and sisters, Lois J.
Wimberley, of San Marcos, Blanche M. Arnold, of Houston, Rae Grube, of Tucson,Ariz., Fernetta L. Davis, of San Marcos, and Janice D. Bishop, of Lockhart, Texas.
A memorial service for Elbert will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas.
