From 5:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. on October 1st, neighbors throughout the City of Lockhart are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement. Along with the traditional outside lights and front porch vigils, most cities celebrate National Night Out by hosting block parties, cookouts, and various community events with safety demonstrations, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, and exhibits.
The Lockhart Police Department is looking for volunteers to host neighborhood events. Please contact Lt. Chris Knudsen or Officer Stephen Parra for more information at (512) 398-4401.
