DESCRIPTION:For the first time since February\, GBT is presenting a fully staged show! The Gaslight-Baker Theatre will present two one-act romantic comedies\, starring Terri Bennett\, Steve Lawson\, and Jason Jones\, and directed by Jason Jones. \nA six performance run will begin Friday\, Sept. 18 and run through Saturday\, Sept. 26. Tickets for this event are $10 and will be limited in order to ensure proper social distancing\, and masks will be required. \nShowtimes for Friday\, Sept. 25 and Saturday\, Sept. 26 \n\nFri. 9/25 – 7PM\nSat. 9/26 – 2PM & 7PM\n\nA Blooming of Ivy\, by Garry Williams \nIvy Taylor\, a widow of twenty years\, and George Thomas\, a widower for a year\, have always been farm neighbors and friends. But one spring morning George awakens to the sound of Ivy’s tractor\, and realizes that this is the first morning he hasn’t “woken up mad” since his wife died. He spruces up a bit and pays Ivy a call. \nWhen God Comes for Breakfast\, You Don’t Burn the Toast\, by Gary Apple \nWhat do you do when “The Almighty” drops in for a casual breakfast? When Harry and Beatrice Katzman are faced with this\, the commonplace and the totally unexpected come together in a flurry of humor and excitement. \nPlease note: \n*Masks will be required. \n*Seating for each performance will be limited to 60 people (< 25% capacity). \n*Tickets are general admission; if you have special seating requirements\, please email info@mygbt.org after making your reservations to let us know what your needs are. \n*There will be at least 12 feet of distance between the performers and the first row of the audience. \n*The performers in this show are part of “quaranteam.” \n*There will be a minimum of 6 feet between groups of seats\, and we ask that patrons abide by social-distancing protocols\, including some special instructions that you will be notified of before the performance. \n*We will be thoroughly sanitizing highly trafficked and frequently touched surfaces before and after the show and intermission. \n*We need the cooperation of all patrons in order to make this event a success.

Again this year the Friends and the City join the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce as they present the Friday evening dazzling “Night Lighted Christmas Parade”  at and Lockhart downtown businesses will be hosting First Friday to add to the fun! \nThroughout the day on Saturday\, the Library will be brimming with family friendly activities including Father Christmas\, a glass blower\, an ice sculptor\, jugglers and much more. Tasty delights from the food vendors are sure to please kids of all ages as they enjoy the falconer\, a petting zoo\, arts and crafts\, bag pipers and much more. This year to celebrate our 30th anniversary\, we will have a life size Snow Globe! The day ends with the lighting of the traditional Yule Log\, community-wide caroling\, and the Mayor’s Proclamation that Christmas has come to Lockhart! \nFri. Dec. 6 – Parade begins at 7 p.m.; Booths open at 6 p.m. \nSat. Dec. 7  – Booths Open from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 PM; Yule log lighting at 7 p.m.
