Garland Kelley
Garland Ross Kelley, born in McMahan, passed away Sept. 8, 2010. He was born Feb. 6, 1929 to Guy Houston and Fannie Mae Kelley.
He was a fifth generation descendent of Caldwell county pioneers. He attended McMahan schools and graduated from Lockhart High School. He was in the Army from 1954 – 1956, and a year later, on June 8, 1957, he married Elizabeth Lell Cardwell,
of Lockhart. He worked for General Geophysical then Texas Instruments for more than 35 years and explored for oil and gas in six states, Canada and the Gulf of Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lell.
He is survived by his son, Ryan Cardwell Kelley; daughter, Dena Lell Bila and husband, Bryan Frank Bila; and two grandchildren, Austin Bryan Bila and Sarah Lell Bila.
Services were held in McCurdy Memorial Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at 11 a.m. Interment followed at Lockhart Cemetery.
