Irma R. De Leon, a beloved, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the age of 67. Born in Fentress, Texas on September 10, 1957, she was the daughter of Juan and Carmen Rocha.

Irma’s unexpected passing leaves a void in the hearts of many including her sons, Alfredo “Freddy” De Leon Jr., Gregory De Leon, Sr. (wife Peggy) and Daniel De Leon, Sr.; her 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her mother, Carmen Rocha; a daughter, Jamie Pompa; her siblings, San Juana Navarro, Maria Teresa Miranda and Cristobal Rocha. Irma was preceded in death by, her husband, Alfredo “Freddy” De Leon, Sr., her father Juan Rocha, a son, Edward, “Eddie” De Leon and a sister, Martina Zapata.

Irma was a woman of God. Along with her husband, she was the first member and a “Pilar” of High Road Community Church in Uhland. The light of her world was her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking care of her plants and her newfound love for metal yard decor. Irma loved all her children, grandchildren, and family dearly. She was always there for every event and never absent. She adored her sons and her absence will be missed especially those big hugs that only a mother could give. She was and is their reason for a brighter day. As my mother-in-law, she opened her heart to me and treated me like a daughter and was always there when I needed her.

Irma was a woman of many words, joyful, funny, hardworking, patient, lovable, caring, strong. Her heart was so big she left her mark on everyone. She embraced life as a gift and never took a day for granted. If you were able to meet her, you were blessed. She only wanted the best for everyone and made sure we all knew God and what he could do for us. She was a perfect example of a God fearing woman. Irma you will be deeply missed not by one, but by many. We have been Blessed by the Best!
The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 5-9 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home. A funeral service will also be at McCurdy Funeral Home beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025 with Pastor Ruben Macias presiding.
