June House
June House of Pflugerville passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2005 at the age of 78. She was born on June 11, 1927 to Josie Floree (Tucker) and Charles Arthur Harkey in San Angelo, Texas. Her parents precede her in death.
June married the love of her life, Joe Edd House, on Oct. 10, 1942. She felt that her legacy in life was to be a loving wife, mother and extraordinary cook
. She shared recipes and offered cooking advice to anyone who wanted or needed it.
June lost her husband on June 3, 1990 after 48 wonderful years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by their only son, Larry Joe House.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Sandra and husband, Don Butler of Red Rock, Texas, and Debbie and husband, Gary Atwood of Hutto, Texas; four grandchildren, W.P. “Bill” Butler, II and wife, Maggie of Lockhart, Patty and husband, Craig Smith of Lockhart, Kim and husband, Broc Jones of Wimberley, and Leslie Atwood of Hutto; six great-grandchildren, Scarlet Butler, W.P. “Trey” Butler, III, Cordell Smith, Cheyenne Smith and Colton Smith, all of Lockhart, and Madison Jones of Wimberley; one brother, C.A. Harkey of San Saba; one sister, LaRue Brooks of Big Sandy, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice Austin, and to her “angels” at Practical Care Continuum.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, 2005 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home.
Honoring June as pallbearers are Dwight Harkey, Randy Brooks, Steve Simpson, Broc Jones, W.P. Butler, II and W.P. Butler, III. Honorary pallbearers are her sons-in-law.
