One of Lockhart’s favorite spring traditions is back, and it’s time for kids to grab their fishing poles and head outdoors.

The City of Lockhart will host Kid Fish 2026 on Saturday, March 14, giving young anglers a chance to spend the morning fishing, enjoying fresh air, and making memories with family and friends.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon and is designed especially for kids who want to experience the excitement of fishing in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. Whether it’s their first time casting a line or they’re already seasoned little anglers, Kid Fish offers a great opportunity for children to learn, explore the outdoors, and maybe even reel in a big catch.

Families are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear and come ready for a fun morning by the water. The event has become a local favorite over the years, drawing families from across the community for a simple but meaningful way to spend time together outside.

City organizers say the goal is to give kids a chance to connect with nature while enjoying one of Texas’ classic outdoor pastimes.

So, pack the tackle box, grab the kids, and head out for what promises to be a “reel” good time at Kid Fish 2026. For families looking for a fun and easy way to kick off their weekend, the fish will be waiting.
